Check This Out Before You Buy an Ultra Pure Collagen Diet

Before you buy an ultra-pure collagen diet aid, let me clear up some of those claims made by the supplement manufacturers. If you believed them all, it would seem that collagens are good for just about everything. But, it is just a structural protein and it is not even a complete protein.

Proteins are composed of amino acids. For adults, there are nine essential amino acids, meaning that they must be consumed in the diet, as the body cannot synthesize them. Collagen contains none of them. There are eight others that are essential in some individuals, due to certain health conditions. It does contain two of those.

Complete proteins are foods that contain all of the essential amino acids; meat, dairy, legumes and other foods. Some of the better health supplements provide all of the essential amino acids, as well as other nutrients. So, that would actually be a better choice for supplementation.

It has been said that an ultra-pure collagen diet pill might help people lose weight, because it seems to promote a sense of fullness or satiety. I would still have to recommend that a complete amino acid supplement would be a better choice.

Some companies claim that the supplements will help you build muscle in your sleep. While muscle tissues do grow at night, it is only as a result of work done during the day. If you exercise and get enough protein in your diet, you can build muscle. There are no magic pills for that purpose.

The supplement is also said to promote joint and bone health. There are better choices for that too, including omega3 fatty acids, green lipped mussel extract, calcium, magnesium and vitamin D.

But, the most ridiculous claim made about ultra-pure collagen diet aids is that they will improve the skin’s firmness, reduce wrinkles and improve the appearance. The companies are betting on consumer’s limited understanding of the role that collagen-fibers play in giving strength and elasticity to the skin.

It is fairly common knowledge that the degradation of collagen-fibers is partially responsible for the signs of aging. Defects in elastin fibers also affect your appearance and so does low-turnover of skin cells. Free radicals cause damage to the cells and the fibers. Inflammation in the tissues weakens the fibers. So, there are many things that cause the skin to look aged.

An ultra-pure collagen diet pill could not address all of those issues. It would simply be broken down in the digestive system and delivered to the area of the body where the amino acids were needed.

Topical creams are a better delivery method for supplying nutrients to the skin’s cells and fibers. Some nutrients prevent free radical damage. Others are natural anti-inflammatories. Essential fatty acids are needed to replenish the skin’s moisture content.

Addressing the nutritional needs of our bodies from the inside out is an important thing to do, particularly as we age. But, an ultra-pure collagen diet supplement is not the right choice. There is always a better option. Please take a look at my website now.
