Delegating the Right Way
When you begin to think of yourself as a successful leader, you realize that there are more demands on your time than you can possibly fill. This is a common problem faced by many leaders. The solution to this challenge is developing a process of effective delegation. However, delegation is an important tool that many leaders hesitate to use, and it has been the downfall of many leaders. The biggest barrier to delegation is overcoming the attitude that you must do it all! It becomes a leader’s curse when you adhere to the adage, “If you want something done right, do it yourself.”
Delegation is very different from simply assigning someone a task or project that falls into his or her established job description or requirements. When you delegate, you give someone else one of your job tasks to complete with the authority and control to complete it properly. Delegation is not abdication. You share accountability for the assignment, which is why checkpoints are established to monitor overall progress. Just as the outcomes of your entire department are your responsibility, you are also responsible for the ultimate success of the delegation process.

There are 2 main types of drugs:

2. Disease modifying drugs such as glucosamine has been shown to slow down the wear and tear of the cartilage but it does have the ability to grow new cartilage. It has also being found to work better with chondroitin.

Vasosupplementation is a procedure whereby a lubricant is injected into the affected joint thus reducing the the frictional wear of the joint surfaces. In addition the lubricant has anti- inflammatory properties to reduce the inflammation in the lining of the joints and may ease the pain for months in early osteoarthritic cases .
b.surgical
Surgical intervention is usually the last resort when all other above treatment fail and in advanced cases:
Debridement is an arthroscopic (keyhole) procedure to clean the joint of torn cartilages, loose pieces of bones, etc. Its main use is to remove the worn out debris which may cause pain and can mechanically cause friction.
High tibial Osteotomy is a procedure to correct the alignment of deformed legs which then reduce the stress on the joint.
Prosthetic joint replacement is a procedure to replace the diseased portion of the joint with a prosthesis or artificial joint allowing painless good range of movement. It is more suitable for older patient because there is a shelf life to these implants.
Unicondylar joint replacement can now be performed in which part of one of the bone of the diseased joint is removed instead of a total joint replacement which involved removal of part of both bones of a joint.
The choice of treatment depends on the stage of the disease and whether there are associated complication.

Honesty Speaks Loudly in Many Languages
Lately I've been thinking about the leadership characteristic of integrity. Several years ago, I worked for a leader who lived out that quality. In fact, if you looked up the word "integrity" in the dictionary, I think you'll see his face posted next to the word. It was great working with a person I could trust – knowing I could believe what he said and that his motives were true.
I recently traveled to China with four businessmen to participate in an ethics and management forum for Global Partners in Hope (GPiH). During one of our luncheons, two of the men had a very lively discussion about honesty in the workplace, with both agreeing it was extremely important.
As I watched their animated conversation in which they talked excitedly and nodded their heads in agreement, I was blown away by how strongly they felt about this issue. One of the men said, "Hey, if an employee will lie about a small thing, then count on them lying about the big stuff, and I can't afford to have employees who are dishonest." The book of Proverbs in the Bible states, "It's better to be poor than a liar." I think we underestimate the impact of a lie and how it affects relationships.
During the forum in Beijing, one man told of how dishonesty had affected both himself and his family. He spoke with tears and it was clear he was wrestling with how to function with real integrity in his business.
Honesty is important in most cultures, but how we define honesty can be confusing. What one might call "negotiations" another culture might call a "bribe." In certain cultures, negotiations are expected as a rule in business. For example, at the Silk Market in Beijing, a person is expected to barter for a certain product. If you don't, it's not "sporting" or much fun. Most of the fun is in the bartering, right? There seems to be a clear definition between a negotiation and a bribe. The merchant would not consider this process as being dishonest.
How about in the workplace when an employee who calls in "sick," but he or she actually is just fine and simply took the "sick" day to play tennis. Is this acceptable? Should we just accept this in the workplace? Should an employee lose their job over a "little lie"?
A line should be made clear in the workplace about honesty and what is acceptable. The leader has the responsibility to model this for those they lead. Why? Because it builds trust, and trust is the foundation for healthy relationships. If trust breaks down, then relationship will break down. Employees want a leader they can trust and employers want employees they can trust.
Regardless of the responsibilities of a leader, some leadership characteristics have universal value. Honesty is a key component of integrity, and any leader looking to lead effectively will not overlook its significance.

When your child has reached the equivalency of second grade they have already learned a host of language items. One of these critical learning elements is that of correct spelling. Home educators just like teachers work diligently to reinforce spelling words at the second grade level.
As a home educator you can follow the methodical approach to teaching second grade spelling that is used by education professionals. This approach makes the process predictable and comfortable for the children in the home classroom. Following a systematic process allows the child to get comfortable with the learning process. Structure provides a sense of security for the child in dealing with second grade speeling words.
A list of curriculum is generally organized by vowel sounds. This provides an added bonus of understanding phonics while learning vowels as a part of spelling. This is better than creating a haphazard list of 2nd grade spelling words as educators can choose to introduce them by sound and by common elements, namely vowels.
When using the vowel approach generally the short "a" vowel sounds are first. This is a deliberate approach since "a" is the first vowel in the alphabet, it is the wise letter of choice in this first list of 2nd grade spelling words. This is especially true since children often see terms such as "cat, hat, and bat" on this list.
That of course is followed by the short "e" vowel sound. The list then follows the next vowel by the order of the alphabet and so on. In this early spelling area for second grade spelling words a simple approach is used where only one syllable words with short vowel sounds are introduced.
Once a home student has demonstrated a mastery of these short vowel lists of 2nd grade spelling words they are ready to move on to more complex and more challenging words.

How to Make a Large Living Room Feel Cozy
We all dream of open floor-plans and large rooms; a living room that can be stuffed with furniture and still have excess wall space; and areas that will afford us a freedom we've never had before. We all
want this.
Unfortunately, when we get it, we quickly discover a problem: that a large living room seems too much. It swallows our personal style and makes everything seem too small, too wasted and too ineffectual. All of that extra space has left us wanting to fill it up and tone it down.
Of course, most of us aren't sure how to manage that. We stumble through attempts and the only result we find is frustration.
You shouldn't have to go through that, not when decorating is meant to be a way to express your personality through design. It's not meant to make you despise the very room you've been waiting for all of your life.
So how do you make that large space seem less like a cave and more like part of your home? It's actually quite easy:
1) Learn The Importance Of Color: dark shades and fabrics will make a living room appear smaller. You can create instant intimacy simply by choosing bold hues like burgundy, hunter green, navy, etc. Use restraint, though. If you fill a living room with nothing but these colors, you can risk feeling trapped.
Compliment them with lighter touches. For example, if you paint your walls a deep blue, you can use shades of white and pastels to help combat the feeling. Your room will still seem smaller, but you won't feel verwhelmed.
2) Patterns Play A Part: if you don't intend to paint but, instead, wish to hang wallpaper, there are certain elements you must avoid. Using stripes (whether vertical or horizontal) will only serve to highlight the room's length. Also, avoid wallpaper that features a simple design as well as tiny little patterns.
This will usually get lost against the walls. Find more color heavy, condensed patterns. Not only will these be striking but they will also help to make the living room less intimidating.
3) Understand Accessories: many people love to hang mirrors and other reflective ornaments in their home. While these can be look wonderful, they can also make a room appear even more expansive.
Mirrors reflect more than light; they give a living room the appearance of being longer. If you already have a large space, try to avoid them. Create intimacy through artwork, rugs, plush pillows, etc.
4) Divide The Room: sometimes, you simply have too much floor space to work with and shoving your furniture along the walls leaves the center of the room looking empty. Don't just push everything to the corners. Instead, divide the room into separate sections.
